Connect AfterMerge to ChatGPT, Claude & Codex.

About three minutes. No API keys, nothing to paste but a URL.

Before you start

No repositories yet? Add them from the chat: ask “Connect my-org/my-repo to AfterMerge” and it indexes them for you.

Connect your app

    Ask your first question

Start a new chat and ask about one of your pull requests:

What could PR #123 in my-org/my-repo break?

    What could PR #842 break?

    analyze_pr · acme/checkout

Billing renewal breaks: it still reads payment_method_id.

    billing/renew.ts:41

You're connected when the reply shows an AfterMerge tool, like analyze_pr.

Stuck?

ChatGPT or Claude can't reach the URL

ChatGPT and Claude connect from OpenAI's and Anthropic's servers, so the URL must be public HTTPS, exactly as shown above. A localhost URL only works for apps on your own machine, like Codex and Claude Code.

I don't see Developer mode

It's under Settings → Security and login. If it isn't there, your ChatGPT plan or workspace may not offer it yet.

It says the repository isn't connected

Connect it in AfterMerge → Repositories and wait for indexing to finish. Also check you chose the right organization when you signed in.

It says an analysis is required

That pull request hasn't been analyzed yet. Say yes when ChatGPT offers to start one: it uses one analysis from your plan and takes a few minutes.

It keeps asking me to sign in, or uses the wrong organization

Revoke it in Settings → Security → Connected apps, then connect again and choose the organization you want.

What it can do

  • What this PR breakson request
  • Blast radiuson request
  • What to teston request
  • Security resultson request
  • How it connects1 message
  • Connect a repo1 repo slot

“On request” is free to read. It uses your plan only if you agree to start an analysis or scan.
